Program Descriptions
Infant Program
The infant program, for children between the ages of six and eighteen months, has been designed to promote development through play in a happy, safe and nurturing environment. The program provides learning opportunities that include gross motor, creative, sensory and cognitive activities and regular outdoor play. In addition to a program of planned activities that leaves plenty of time for cuddles and impromptu play, the daily schedule includes sleep and feeding times that accommodate each child's individual schedule. The centre provides for virtually all of the infants' needs which includes a crib, bedding and milk in addition to the meals and snacks provided by the kitchen. To ensure good communication, each infant has a Daily Record Book which is used by parents and staff to keep each other informed.
Toddler and Preschool Programs
The toddler program for children between eighteen and thirty months and the preschool programs for two and a half to five years olds enjoy a more structured environment of planned learning activities to enhance school readiness skills and includes both active and quiet play, indoors and outdoors. Free play and structured learning periods, large and small group activities, walks around campus and a consistent approach to meals, sleep/quiet times and toileting routines are also part of the programs. The senior preschoolers enjoy a swimming program from October to March. In order to be enrolled in the preschool programs, children must be completely toilet trained.
